Back in the summer I received an amazing collection of handmade wholesale beads from Maruti Beads. Each bead that came in the collection was unique in size, shape, color and accents. It was like receiving a candy box of jewelry making supplies! But then, after sifting through the beads countless times, I had a hard time figuring out that to make. Since I was sent a sampling of the Maruti Beads products there were no two similar beads. Making a necklace with so many unique pieces was a little impossible. I attempted to add other beads to the string, but ended up not loving any of the creations I came up with. That is until, I remembered that I had been wanting to try a DIY of the thread-covered bangles that Kate Spade made so popular this summer. Instead of using a little charm the Maruti beads became the perfect addition.

Once you have moved beyond the glue part, you can wrap more quickly and then push the thread together and tighten it up as you go along. Make sure the thread is tightly wound so that it doesn’t unravel and so that it looks uniform all the way around the bangle.

At the end, wrap the thread around the bangle and your finger a couple times. Cut the end and then string the end through the loops made by your finger. Tighten the thread and add another small dab of glue to keep the ends down and the knot firmly in place.

Add bead or charm of your choice or just leave the bangle as is.
